Grace Stumpf

Major: Agricultural and Biological Engineering

Objective:  I am a senior studying agricultural and biological engineering with a concentration in bioprocessing. I am looking to enter R&D in the food industry, and I am especially interested in fermentation and innovative food technology.

Desired Field:  I am very interested in the food industry, with experience working in fermentation and flavors innovation.

Projects:  I have worked on the fermentation team, working with a variety of customers each with goals of producing different products- some being food, feed, personal care items, herbicides, and many more. I work hands on with the bioreactors themselves, helping run each project, take samples, and run analytic tests to monitor their growth and production.

Equipment Capabilities:  Fermenters, YSI for sugar concentration, spectrophotometer, pH meters, aseptic lab technique, spray dryers, centrifuge

Relevant Skills: Food and industrial microbiology, thermodynamics, transport processes, biomass for biofuel, biochemical engineering, advanced math and physics, organic chemistry
