Objective: As a graduate student in Bioprocessing and Bioenergy at UIUC with hands-on experience in pilot-scale precision fermentation projects, I am passionate about advancing sustainable solutions through biomanufacturing
Desired Field: My interests lie in scaling microbial processes for production of enzymes, bio-based chemicals, and alternative proteins through data-driven biomanufacturing and pilot-scale optimization, thereby contributing to global Bioeconomy.
Projects: During my time in the FASTER program, I worked on scaling and optimizing microbial fermentations in pilot-scale bioreactors ranging from 16L to 1200L. My projects involved process development for biomass accumulation, metabolite production such as biopolymers, biofuels etc., including real-time monitoring of parameters such as pH, DO, and substrate utilization. I also contributed to media optimization and downstream processing tasks like centrifugation and chromatography, all while supporting cross-functional teams in troubleshooting and improving fermentation performance.
