The Buhler 44mm twin-screw extruder is capable of a wide-range of products including direct-expanded snacks and cereals, protein crisps, and High Moisture Extrusion (HME) or High Moisture Meat Analogs (HMMA). This is a 6 barrel unit with upgraded controls, barrel temperature control and monitoring, and pressure indication. Feed/input capabilities include a bulk loss-in-weight feeder, micro-dosing loss-in-weight feeder, water, kettle for additional liquids, and steam.
Product from the extruder is moved via air conveyor directly to packaging, or can be directed to our Buhler Aeroglide Fluidized Bed Dryer for continuous drying. This equipment is setup to dry the full capacity of the extruder, or we can use our National (Buhler Aeroglide) Tray Dryer for small test batches. After drying, we have the option of continuous seasoning with our PPM Seasoning System or using our Krispy Kist Enrober for small batches.
