Dedert Spray Dryer

Description

DEDERT Model SD 1.0 Spray Drying System, rated for an evaporation capacity of 20 lb/h (9 kg/h) at an inlet air temperature of 482°F (250°C) and an outlet temperature of 194°F (90°C).

Nozzle Atomizer: A feed system consisting of a peristaltic pump would be supplied to provide the required pressure to the two-fluid nozzles that would serve to atomize the liquid particles.

Electric Air Heater: An electric air heater would be supplied to heat the inlet air temperature to 482°F (250°C) based on an ambient air temperature of 68°F (20°C).

The spray dryer is conceived as a pull single fan system. The incoming ambient air required by the drying system would be filtered and then heated to the required operating temperature by an electric air heater. The heated air would be introduced at the top of the spray chamber through an air distributor where it would contact the atomized liquid feed for quick and effective drying. The section of the ceiling surrounding the drying inlet air would be cooled to prevent overheating of particles.
